Program Description
The Industrial-Organizational (I-O) Psychology Graduate Program is dedicated to advancing the science and practice of psychology in the workplace. Our mission is to develop highly skilled professionals, researchers, and leaders who apply psychological principles to improve organizational effectiveness, enhance employee well-being, and drive evidence-based decision-making in a diverse and evolving global workforce.
Rooted in a rigorous, interdisciplinary curriculum, our program integrates foundational psychological theories with applied methodologies in areas such as personnel selection, performance management, leadership, organizational development, and human factors. Through a blend of instruction, research, and real-world practical experiences, students gain the expertise needed to address complex workplace challenges using ethical, data-driven, and innovative solutions.

Admissions Information
Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field and demonstrate strong academic performance.
Prior to admission to any graduate program at Valdosta State University, applicants must first submit a completed application packet to the Graduate School. A completed application packet includes official transcripts from all institutions previously attended, a completed application form, fee payment, and any additional program requirements (linked below), submitted by the admission deadline. To be considered for the preferred term, all required materials must be received by the Graduate School no later than the close of business on the deadline. It is the responsibility of the applicant to allow adequate time for document submission and to ensure receipt of documents.
