Master of Education with a Major in Middle Grades Education

The University of North Georgia (UNG) offers a fully online Master of Education in Middle Grades Education for in-service teachers to expand their knowledge in highly sought-after teaching fields.   

Top graduate faculty from UNG and Valdosta State University teach the courses. This 12-course program can be completed in four consecutive semesters - about 16 months - with a full-time enrollment. Courses are offered on a continuous basis allowing for part-time enrollment. All course-work, including exams, is done online.

Baccalaureate from an accredited institution (as defined under Accredited Institutions in the Academic Information section of the Graduate Catalog) with at least a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 (4.0 scale) calculated in accordance with Graduate Admissions procedures.

Employment as a teacher in a Middle Grades classroom working with students at least 20 hours per week.

Clear/renewable teaching certificate in Middle Grades Math or Middle Grades Science in the state of Georgia. Graduate Admissions will verify your certificate through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GAPSC).

Teachers certified in states other than Georgia may be eligible. To qualify, you must hold the equivalent of a Georgia clear/renewable teaching certificate. Please contact Graduate Admissions for additional information.
