Program Description

If you have a goal of being a police officer or criminal justice professional, the Bachelor of Science with a major in criminal justice will assist in building a foundation for the career. Interests in research, investigation, problem-solving, and the ability to be poised under pressure are key characteristics to being successful in the program.

The Criminal Justice Major will prepare you for a variety of criminal justice positions. The program provides a foundation in police, courts, and corrections. The various criminal justice classes will address improving attention to detail, critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and to communicate clearly, both written and oral. Courses may include in-depth investigations in policing, courts, corrections, or forensics. An internship experience is a requirement.
