Master of Science in Information Technology
Program Description
The MS in IT program requires students to complete 30 hours of graduate coursework. The first 15 hours provide students with knowledge in core information technologies in leadership, strategic planning, and research. Students can then focus on one area of study to enhance their set of skills and knowledge. These areas of study are Cyber Security and Forensics, Software Development, Social Media, Critical Infrastructure Management, Health Informatics, and Data Science.
The courses in the program emphasize leadership abilities, critical thinking, problem solving, decision-making, and interpersonal and communication skills. Career success through lifelong learning, professional development, and research is stressed at all levels of the curriculum. The program is designed to produce graduates prepared to take on leadership duties in the field of Information Technology in general as well as in specific work settings such as healthcare and information security.
Middle Georgia State University is designated as a Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)

Foreign transcripts must be submitted to an international credential evaluation service for a course-by-course evaluation to include GPA. Transcripts must be sent by the institution directly to MGA. We do not accept transcripts sent by applicants.

*If you have a college transcript from MGA, you do not have to pay for or send your transcript to Admissions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an institutionally accredited college or university
- GPA of at least 2.75 OR a 2.5 GPA with a significant work experience (as judged by the School of Information Technology) in Information Technology, as documented by a resume and other appropriate documents.
