Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education

The Elementary Education degree is a broad-field program that will prepare you to become a teacher of young children. Upon completion of your degree requirements and passing the certification exam for pre-kindergarten to grade five in Georgia, you’ll be ready to make a difference in the classroom.

The Elementary Education degree is cross-disciplinary, and your course requirements will include particular emphasis on content studies in mathematics and reading. These course requirements relate to the broad and integrated nature of teaching in the elementary grades and the fundamental importance of developing young learners' reading and mathematical skills.

You will understand developmentally appropriate practices and an awareness of and sensitivity to cultural diversity and individual differences among young learners.
