Program Description

A degree in Special Education - General Curriculum qualifies an individual for professional opportunities in public schools and other settings concerned with meeting the needs of individuals with disabilities and leads students to Special Education - General Curriculum certification in Special Education. As the need for Special Education professionals increases, the program seeks to produce highly qualified graduates to fill the high-demand in Georgia and throughout the nation.

This program is taught 100% online and is designed to meet the needs of paraprofessionals. The program provides flexibility so working paraprofessionals can continue working while completing field and clinical experiences, including student teaching. Additionally, some paraprofessionals can keep their current positions and use them as placements for their field and clinical experiences.  Advisors will work closely with each student to ensure their positions meet current program and certification guidelines.
