Bachelor of Science in Education, Special Education

Georgia Southern University
Degree Level Bachelors
Total Credit Hours 124

Program Description

Special education teachers are an in-demand career field, oftentimes with twice as many job openings as applicants. Special education teachers are vital in helping
students with diverse physical, emotional, and learning needs reach their full potential. Georgia Southern University’s special education degree program prepares educators to
support these students in inclusive and resource settings, providing them with the skills to make a meaningful impact in general education classrooms and through targeted
pull-out interventions.

The B.S.Ed. Special Education program has two-degree delivery options: online and hybrid. Students enrolled in either track are first admitted to the Special Education B.S.Ed. Professional Studies Track (Non-Certification Track). Upon meeting B.S.Ed. teacher education admission requirements at the completion of the Field of Study
coursework, students will be admitted to the certification track.
